I was raised by two amazing women, my grandma and my single mom. When I lost them both within just a few months of each other, my world was forever changed. There were no early warning signs in our story. My mom was sick, and then she was gone in less than a month.
Grief has changed the way I understand strength and support. So when I was introduced to Team Tell Every Amazing Lady®, I knew I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to be part of a mission focused on awareness, support, and funding for ovarian cancer.
Running has become a way for me to process loss, stay grounded, and keep moving forward when life feels heavy. It represents more than a physical challenge; it’s about resilience, community, wins, losses, ups and downs, and the reminder that we don’t have to carry hard things alone.
I run for my mom, who faced ovarian cancer without enough resources or accessible information.I run for my sister, who has to be a mom without her mom.I run for my grandma, who had to watch her daughter suffer and couldn’t do anything to stop it. I run for my mom’s neighbor, who lost her best friend. Ovarian cancer took my mom’s life, but it also changed the lives of everyone who loved her. I run for all the people who have to grieve a life this disease has claimed. I run to remind myself, and others, we can do hard things, and we don’t have to do them alone.
I can’t think of a better way to honor her than by joining Team Tell Every Amazing Lady® to help bring awareness, resources, and support for someone’s daughter, mother, aunt, friend, neighbor, barista, teacher, coworker, classmate, grandmother, wife, or loved one.
Every step I take is for her and for every family who deserves more time!
