Advisory Board member Dr. Elizabeth Poynor of NY’s Lenox Hill Hospital, Sol Schreiber, founder of OCRF and Dr Sharyn Lewin, gynecological surgical oncologist of NY Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center.

Dr. Lin Zhang MD of the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine is conducting research with funds donated by T.E.A.L. through the OCRF.  The research will attempt to identify molecular targets for therapy using microRNA’s and focus on developing new therapies to treat ovarian cancer because of its resistance to chemotherapy.

According to Dr. Zhang’s recent report, “The studies in my laboratory, which supported by the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund (OCRF) and the Louisa M. McGregor Ovarian Cancer Foundation (T.E.A.L.), have provided evidence indicating that microRNAs may play functional roles in normal and cancer stem cell maintenance and differentiation. The work has recently been published in Cancer Research and Journal of Biological Chemistry.”

T.E.A.L. is proud to support Dr. Zhang’s efforts and wishes him success in his research.
