T.E.A.L. was proud to be a part of the Symposium on Inherited Breast and Ovarian Cancer on September 30th, which featured a panel discussion moderated by TV icon Barbara Walters. The symposium, taking place at the Central Synagogue in Manhattan, focused on the inherited risk of Ovarian and Breast Cancer, the genes that contribute to this risk, and the heightened risk and susceptibility of Jewish women to these genetic mutations. Panel experts included Dr. Carmel Cohen- Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai; Dr. Susan Domchek – Director, Basser Research Benter for BRCA, University of Pennsylvania; Dr. Noah Kauff – Director, Ovarian Cancer Screening & Prevention, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center; and Dr. Julia Smith- Director, Breast Cancer Screening and Prevention Program, NYU Cancer Institute.
T.E.A.L. was one of the participating organizations at the symposium and contributed awareness materials to the event and its participants.
