On October 2nd, 2023, T.E.A.L.®’s co-founder and CEO Pamela Esposito-Amery partnered with Healthy Women to create an educational video discussing ovarian cancer symptoms, risk factors, and the importance of knowing your family history and genetic risks. The video discusses how symptoms of ovarian cancer can be mistaken for other women’s health issues, such as endometriosis and menopause, causing the disease to often be diagnosed in later stages. Pamela also discusses her Lynch Syndrome diagnosis and how genetic testing empowered her to make the right decisions regarding her health. She emphasizes the fact that there is no screening test for ovarian cancer, and that you should always advocate for yourself when you feel something isn’t right. Watch the video here.
Also, on August 8th, 2023, T.E.A.L.® supporter and ovarian cancer survivor Schern Yung was featured in a Healthy Women article where she discussed her ovarian cancer diagnosis journey, and how her symptoms were dismissed by doctors, leading to a later diagnosis. Read Schern’s article here.
