Meet Team Tell Every Amazing Lady®’s 2025 United Airlines NYC Half Runner, Michael!

I am thrilled to be on Team Tell Every Amazing Lady®  again this year. I sat out last year’s race because of a run-in with lymphoma. I am through it and healthy!  I mention it because Pamela and Team Tell Every Amazing Lady®  were extremely proactive in offering me resources and introductions to people in their network that could help me and my family.  Needless to say, I am beyond inspired by the work Tell Every Amazing Lady® does everyday and am energized by their compassion, strength and commitment to cancer research and ending ovarian cancer for good!

Meet Team Tell Every Amazing Lady®’s 2025 United Airlines NYC Half Runner, Christina!

Over the past year, the mother of a very close friend of mine was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. By running with Tell Every Amazing Lady® I want to show support for those with ovarian cancer, while spreading awareness for this cause. I am privileged to run and raise funds for such an incredible foundation!

Meet Team Tell Every Amazing Lady®’s 2025 United Airlines NYC Half Runner, Lynne!

I am a 61 year old Brooklyn girl, who was a childhood friend of Louisa McGregor. I remember the fierce battle Louisa fought against ovarian cancer with the support of her loving and amazing family. She courageously left a legacy to help and educate other women to symptoms of this disease. I am proud to run with this wonderful group to continue her legacy and promote awareness.

I have been running since my late teens and enjoy the solitude of distance running but have also met some incredible people along the way. I am a veteran of over 30 NYC Marathons, a wife and mom of triplets and most recently a grandmother to a beautiful baby girl. I am a pharmacist, working as a Director of Pharmacy at Interfaith Medical Center//OBH in Bedstuy Brooklyn- an area in need of early detection and preventative care.

Meet Team Tell Every Amazing Lady®’s 2025 United Airlines NYC Half Runner, Karissa!

I’m grateful to run with Team Tell Every Amazing Lady® for so many reasons! Tell Every Amazing Lady® was one of the first Giving Partners Thrive Causemetics and Bigger Than Beauty Skincare, established over a decade ago, and it’s been such a privilege to work with Pamela and her team to impact those experiencing ovarian cancer. One of my best friends, Jamie Greenberg, and I will be running to honor our moms, Jenni and Ruth, who both had ovarian cancer. This race is about community, resilience and empowerment, just like Tell Every Amazing Lady® and Thrive Causemetics.

Meet Team Tell Every Amazing Lady®’s 2025 United Airlines NYC Half Runner, Jamie!

After losing my mother to the disease in 2011, I think it’s important to raise awareness for ovarian cancer so we can help to prevent more losses. Additionally, I think it is important to help raise funds to be able to find a cure.

Meet Team Tell Every Amazing Lady®’s 2025 United Airlines NYC Half Runner, Stephanie!

Running has never been part of my identity. In fact, until recently, I never thought of myself as someone who could set a fitness goal, let alone run a half marathon. But that all changed when I took a leap of faith and signed up for the 2024 Disney Half Marathon. What started as a “whim” has turned into something so much more, not only did I finish that race, but running has become a personal journey that’s transformed my relationship with my body, health, and confidence.

It’s easy to get lost in the shuffle of daily life. Between caring for my two young daughters and juggling family, I found it difficult to prioritize myself. After having my first child I struggled with feeling comfortable in my own skin and knew I had to make a change, but didn’t know where to start. That’s when running entered my life and soon discovered that running was about more than just fitness. It became a way for me to reconnect with my body, clear my mind, and gain a sense of accomplishment I had never experienced before.

One of the highlights of my running journey so far was the 2024 NYC United Airlines Half Marathon. Running through the streets of New York City, the city that raised me, was beyond words. There’s something so special about experiencing the pulse of the city, feeling the energy of the crowd, and seeing landmarks that have shaped who I am. It was a full-circle moment.

As I started exploring the charity partners for the United Airlines Half Marathon 2025, one organization stood out: Tell Every Amazing Lady®. The work Tell Every Amazing Lady® does to raise awareness for ovarian cancer and to educate women about the importance of listening to their bodies resonated deeply with me. Many of us get so caught up in the demands of life that we forget to check in with ourselves, and by the time we realize something’s wrong, it can be too late.

While I don’t have a personal connection to ovarian cancer, I have witnessed firsthand the devastating impact cancer has on a family. My own family has been touched by this disease, and I know the toll it takes on everyone involved. The emotional, physical, and mental strain is immeasurable. That’s why I’m so honored to be part of TEAL’s mission to spread awareness and empower women to advocate for their health. Supporting this cause through my running journey feels like the perfect way to give back and use my new passion to make a meaningful impact. Together, we can help make a difference.

Meet Team Tell Every Amazing Lady®’s 2025 United Airlines NYC Half Runner, Solange!

My journey with Tell Every Amazing Lady® started 8 years right after my mother passed away.  I have been volunteering and dedicated every effort to bring awareness to ovarian cancer. I have found Tell Every Amazing Lady® an incredible support system and it brings me so much joy to be part of something so inspiring.

My hope is that one day, not only will there be a cure for every cancer but, there will be proper ovarian cancer screening. This is going to be my 3rd half marathon running on behalf of Tell Every Amazing Lady®. Running has been an important part of my life, keeping my mind focused on the important things in life.

I’m honored and  grateful to be running the NYC Marathon on behalf of Tell Every Amazing Lady®. I hope that with every step I’ll bring hope and support to all Amazing Ladies suffering this devastating disease.

Meet Team Tell Every Amazing Lady®’s 2025 United Airlines NYC Half Runner, Milena!

In 2015, my grandmother passed away from stage 4 ovarian cancer. I would love nothing more than to honor her by doing the NYC Half Marathon while supporting Tell Every Amazing Lady, since she always loved to walk and stay active. As she was a primary caregiver of mine when I was younger, she would always teach me the importance of moving your body and staying strong. We would go on walks everyday, and I would never realize how long they were since I loved spending time with her. Ever since then, I have participated in sports every year of my life, and it has become a huge part of who I am. I feel that completing this half marathon in honor of Tell Every Amazing Lady would serve as a perfect way to honor her and every woman that has gone through or is currently going through ovarian cancer.

Meet Team Tell Every Amazing Lady®’s 2025 United Airlines NYC Half Runner, Marc!

My name is Marc Lieberman and I’m super proud to be running the 2025 NYC Half-Marathon with Team Tell Every Amazing Lady®. The past few years my family and I have seen some very close friends bravely battle different types of cancer. The thing that amazed us all is their incredible courage in how they went about their journey.

I’m running to help raise awareness and money for ovarian cancer research in hopes that a cure will soon be discovered. I’m motivated by all the patients, families, friends, doctors and nurses who are all the real heroes!!!

Meet Team Tell Every Amazing Lady®’s 2025 United Airlines NYC Half Runner, Katelyn!

Tell Every Amazing Lady®’s mission is near and dear to my heart! My best childhood friend was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in her early 30s. Seeing her battle ovarian cancer into remission was such an inspiration to me. While she has a good support network of friends and family, I saw firsthand how the lack of resources on ovarian cancer was so isolating and confusing. I am so honored to run with an organization that is raising funding for life-saving research and spreading awareness about ovarian cancer to promote early detection!

So excited to be running the NYC Half Marathon on Team  Team Tell Every Amazing Lady®!  Raising funds for and awareness of such an incredible organization is a privilege and honor! Meet Team Tell Every Amazing Lady®’s 2025 United Airlines NYC Half Runner, Ivana!

I’m running on Team Tell Every Amazing Lady® because this fight is personal. As I battle ovarian cancer, I’ve experienced firsthand how critical awareness, support, and research are in saving lives. This organization embodies everything I believe in—empowering women, educating communities, and advocating for better resources. By running with this team, I’m standing alongside a movement that gives hope and amplifies the voices of those affected by this disease, including my own.

My goal for the United Airlines NYC Half is to cross that finish line as a testament to resilience and strength—not just my own, but for every woman who has faced ovarian cancer. It’s about raising awareness, inspiring others to fight, and proving that this diagnosis doesn’t define us. Every step I take is a message of hope and determination, and I aim to raise as much as I can to support the mission of early detection, education, and research.

What I love most about running is its transformative power. Running clears my mind, strengthens my spirit, and reminds me of what my body is capable of, even during the toughest battles. It’s my way of connecting with myself, my goals, and the world around me. With every mile, I find a sense of purpose and pride—especially now, as I run for something bigger than myself.

If I could change one thing, it would be the lack of early detection methods for ovarian cancer. Far too often, this disease is caught in later stages when treatment is more challenging. I would invest in research to develop reliable screening tests and ensure they are accessible to all women, regardless of background. Early detection can save lives, and it’s heartbreaking to think how many are lost simply because the tools to catch it in time don’t exist yet. Every woman deserves a fighting chance.

Meet Team Tell Every Amazing Lady®’s 2025 United Airlines NYC Half Runner, Dominique!

In September of 2017, just before my 18th birthday, I lost my mother—the most influential, supportive, and free-spirited person in my life. Her battle with ovarian cancer was a whirlwind of emotions, leaving us confused, empty, and blindsided. Through her diagnosis and passing, I struggled to find clarity, but lacing up my sneakers and hitting the pavement has become my way of channeling her free spirit. Running has become my outlet to fill the emptiness and clear the confusion I once felt.

I run for Team Tell Every Amazing Lady®  to raise awareness for ovarian cancer—a disease that took my mother and left us all unprepared. My goal is to show others affected by this disease that they are stronger than they realize, and that they have my support—and the support of many others—along the way. By finishing the NYC Half Marathon (hopefully with a sub-2-hour time), I hope to prove to myself that I can honor my mother’s legacy, be an inspiration to others, and offer the strength and support that I once needed.

Through this journey, I want to remind everyone impacted by ovarian cancer that strength isn’t about the speed at which we run, but about having the resilience to keep moving forward, no matter the challenges we face.

Meet Team Tell Every Amazing Lady®’s 2025 United Airlines NYC Half Runner, Clare!

I have such fond memories of my aunt Siggi, even her aura sticks with me to this day. I remember her for her kind and gentle spirit while always bringing smiles to our faces and laughter in our lives. She meant the world to me, my family, my cousin, my uncle, and especially to my mom, her only younger sister.

In the year 2000, we were all stunned by my aunt’s diagnosis of ovarian cancer. Mind you this was after months of symptoms explained away by her doctor. With little to no research back then, it was difficult to identify or diagnose. It was especially hard given my family still lived on the east coast while my aunt, uncle and cousin had moved out to Washington state years before. My aunt unfortunately lost her battle a couple of months later on Thanksgiving. This had a great impact on our lives and while for many years was a deep wound, it taught us great lessons about health, early detection and intervention.

It means the world to me to be able to honor my aunt and run the NYC Half Marathon (bringing me back to my soccer playing days) to raise money for many women and families who have been impacted by ovarian cancer. I hope to continue to spread awareness and education. All women should ALWAYS trust their gut and listen to their bodies. This saves lives.

Meet Team Tell Every Amazing Lady®’s 2025 United Airlines NYC Half Runner, Byron!

I am running on Team Tell Every Amazing Lady® because I want to share my mother’s story while being able to spread and raise awareness about Ovarian Cancer.

My goal for the United Airlines NYC Half Marathon is to finish between 2hr/15 min – 2hr/20 min with a 10 min -10:30 min pace per mile. What I love most about running is the ability to test my physical and mental strength and while pushing myself to new limits. Running has given me the opportunity to meet new friends and run with groups in order to help me train for future races.

If I had the power to change one thing related to ovarian cancer, it would be to massively increase the amount of resources in order to detect early awareness and treatment while also being able to spread knowledge. My message to every amazing lady is to never give up because there’s always hope beyond what you see.

Meet Team Tell Every Amazing Lady®’s 2025 United Airlines NYC Half Runner, Blair!

Running a half marathon to support the fight against ovarian cancer is a meaningful way to honor those affected by this disease and contribute to raising awareness. It’s an opportunity to transform physical endurance into a powerful message of hope and solidarity for women battling ovarian cancer. Supporting this cause allows me to contribute to crucial research and resources that can save lives. Each mile becomes a symbol of resilience, echoing the strength of those fighting this illness. Through this journey, I can inspire others to join the cause and remind the world of the importance of early detection and support.

Meet Team Tell Every Amazing Lady®’s 2025 United Airlines NYC Half Runner, Abigail!

I am running on Team Tell Every Amazing Lady® in honor of my grandmother, who is in remission of ovarian cancer. My goal for the United Airlines NYC Half is to fundraise money for this amazing charity. I love running because it gives me the freedom to compete against myself.

If I had the power to make a difference related to ovarian cancer, it would be to create a community of support for those that are suffering from this disease. I would like to tell my grandma that I love her and I’m so happy that she is still here.

Meet Team Tell Every Amazing Lady®’s 2024 TCS New York City Marathon Runner, Yvonne!

I lost a dear friend of mine to ovarian cancer two years ago. She was the same age as me, and also a runner and a triathlete. My friend Louisa dealt with her diagnosis with courage, grace, acceptance and even humor. I take the lessons I learned from her and try and apply them every day.

I had extensive knee surgery in September 2022 and ran my first half-marathon in November 2023 which was amazing although I did have some residual pain. My goal for this race is a pain free race! Apart from that, I want to raise lots of money for Tell Every Amazing Lady® and to have fun!

I love how running makes me feel – free, strong, confident, like I can do anything! I also love that I can pretty much do it anywhere, anytime and I get to enjoy and explore the environment I am in.

If I had the power to make a difference, I would love for there to be greater awareness around ovarian cancer and a more robust process for screening so more women could be diagnosed earlier.

Please show up and cheer us on! Every spectator and cheer helps!

Meet Team Tell Every Amazing Lady®’s 2024 TCS New York City Marathon Runner, William!

On August 24th, 2023, my family lost Susan “Sue” Adams (my aunt) after her yearlong battle with ovarian cancer. Our family is very tight knit, and Aunt Sue’s cancer and passing was incredibly challenging for not only my uncle and cousins, but our extended family and the countless number of people Aunt Sue befriended and positively impacted in her life.

Despite the challenges, Aunt Sue never failed to inspire and encourage our family with her positive attitude, grace, and strength, and left us thinking, how can we turn a negative into a positive. A couple months after she passed away, I was in Brooklyn supporting friends who were running the 2023 New York Marathon. I was struck by how positive the atmosphere was. I was also thinking about Aunt Sue, as the race was run on her birthday (November 5th). I thought about how much she would’ve loved being there considering she grew up and lived her whole life in New York, was the first female scholarship athlete from White Plains High School, a WPHS Hall of Fame athlete and basketball coach, and had recently retired from being a dedicated physical education teacher. Following the race, it was hard to imagine a better way to make a difference and celebrate her life than to raise money for ovarian cancer through running the marathon.

Meet Team Tell Every Amazing Lady®’s 2024 TCS New York City Marathon Runner, Traci!

I was 3 months away from running the Boston Marathon in 2018 when I found out that I had ovarian cancer.

The more I learned about ovarian cancer, the bigger my personal vendetta against the disease grew.  I felt guilty that I was lucky to have a slow growing version that allowed me to catch my cancer at stage one.  I couldn’t believe how low the survival rate is and how easy it was to dismiss the symptoms as those experienced by “a woman of a certain age”.  I became passionate about sharing my experience with anyone who would listen and fundraising with the hope for a world without ovarian cancer.

I roared back the following year, requalified and was all set to run the Boston Marathon in April 2020 when Covid hit in March.  I ran a virtual Boston Marathon in my hometown that year, and then finally made it to Boston to run in person in October 2021.  Shortly before reaching my 5-year cancer free anniversary, I ran the Chicago Marathon in October 2022.  Cancer is not going to stop me.

My husband, Mark (who is biggest supporter) and I became a dynamic fundraising duo, using each race as an opportunity to be among at the top ovarian cancer fundraisers in all of Canada.

I’m very excited to take the show on the road and to have the opportunity to run my 3rd World Marathon Major. And most importantly, I’m eager to continue my fundraising efforts to defeat this evil cancer through Team Tell Every Amazing Lady® at the 2024 TCS New York City Marathon.

Meet Team Tell Every Amazing Lady®’s 2024 TCS New York City Marathon Runner, Tessa!

I had a family member get diagnosed with ovarian cancer, and when any family member gets diagnosed, it affects everyone. I heard of T.E.A.L.® through them and events/fundraisers they participated in for T.E.A.L.®. When I saw there was an opportunity to join T.E.A.L.® and help spread their message by running the TCS New York City Marathon, I thought it was the perfect organization to partner with. I’ve ran one other marathon before and absolutely loved it. The goal I set for myself then was to run the entire marathon, no walking allowed! For this marathon I would love to quicken my pace and finish in 3 hours and 30 minutes, which will be a half hour faster than I’ve ran a marathon before. I love the ability to use running as a mental break and recharge. I don’t like to listen to music or podcasts while running.

I like to be alone with my thoughts, focusing on the beauty of the environment around me. It helps me be more present in my life. Besides curing the disease entirely, I would change the ability of having an accurate screening test. Accurate screening is so important to prevent many different diseases and the fact that there isn’t one to test for ovarian cancer is a shame, especially because the symptoms of ovarian cancer are often times vague. I would want to tell those battling with ovarian cancer that their not alone.

I would want them to know that I’m cheering them on, supporting in anyway that I can. That I hope everyday brings them a little more strength, determination, and healing. I would want them to know that they are strong, inspiring and we’re all going to get through this together. I am incredibly grateful that I get to run for such an amazing cause and I can’t wait to continue to share the message of T.E.A.L.® and spread awareness of ovarian cancer.

Sincerely,

Tessa Spencer

Meet Team Tell Every Amazing Lady®’s 2024 TCS New York City Marathon Runner, Rana!

I lost my mom, Crishna Bose-Bansal, on July 1, 2015, to ovarian cancer.

She was the strongest person I have ever met. Before she was pregnant with me, my mom was training for the Boston Marathon. She never got to see my sister and I graduate from college in Cambridge and move to New York City, so I am excited to run the five boroughs in her honor and to celebrate her life and her undying spirit.

My fundraising efforts will support both research towards a cure for ovarian cancer and early testing and screening for women of all ages.

Meet Team Tell Every Amazing Lady®’s 2024 TCS New York City Marathon Runner, Michelle!

Seven years ago Audra lost her 2 year battle with ovarian cancer. Many might say “that is sad” and while we agree, we also say “FTS”……

Audra was a lover of life. She was a mother, a daughter, a sister, an aunt, and the most wonderful friend. Audra lived, as we all should, like each and every day were her last. She jumped out of planes, rode motorcycles, explored the world, and found the positive in every situation. We all have promises that we made to Audra before she lost her battle, but the one she asked from ALL of us was the promise that we “Make our lives SPECTACULAR”! We can help keep that promise by taking care of each other, and also by taking care of ourselves.

In keeping my word to Audra I am once again embarking on a health and wellness journey while raising money for a cause she was passionate about. Educating others, and finding as cure. November 3, 2024 I will be running the 2024 TCS New York City Marathon with Team Tell Every Amazing Lady® (Tell Every Amazing Lady® About Ovarian Cancer Louisa M. McGregor Ovarian Cancer Foundation).

Not a day goes by that you are not talked about or thought about Audra. We can hear your laugh, all the time. Ohhh that laugh!

Seven years have flown by but it also seems so long since we’ve had you here and so much has happened….. Your son got married to an amazing woman and they had the most beautiful baby boy with another on his way. Your nephews have grown to become men that you would be proud of. Your little bestie is just like you in that she can bring a smile to anyone’s face. Also, she can literally beat a mermaid in a swimming competition!

We know you are watching us all with a smile- laughing, screaming, and even probably cursing at us and the silly things we do. But please keep watching over us, keep those signs coming, we feel you every day, and just know that we are all here saying “FTS……let’s find a cure!!!!!!!” Love you!

Meet Team Tell Every Amazing Lady®’s 2024 TCS New York City Marathon Runner, Irma Marie!

My journey was not easy.

In learning that I had breast cancer and ovarian cancer I learned survivorship, I underwent chemotherapy, radiation, a double mastectomy with no option of reconstruction to replace my breast.

After having breast cancer, I learned that my ovaries had to be removed as I developed stage 1 ovarian cancer .  “Ovarian cancer is a silent killer.”  Due to the difficulty in early detection most women don’t have early symptoms.

I have always enjoyed running. I began running half marathons when I was first diagnosed with cancer. When I started chemotherapy, I felt that running would help me sweat out the horrific drug that was put into my body that also saved my life. I ran to keep my body strong, to help me with the stress of not thinking of the cancer, and the financial burden that this would cause my family.

My life had changed forever where I learned that cancer is like a book with so many pages you don’t see a way to read through all of them at once. When you take one page at a time, a story takes place in an unexpected way. The outcome isn’t clear or easy to deal with, but you find as you go through the journey that a clear outcome isn’t the point! The journey is the thing: the people you connect  with along the way is the story.  Living life to the fullest as tomorrow is not promised.

5 Things Cancer Taught Me:

1) Life is Too Short

2) What Courage Is

3) That Love Never Dies

4) Although Life Gets Hard, it’s Still Beautiful

5) That Nothing Last Forever

Meet Team Tell Every Amazing Lady®’s 2024 TCS New York City Marathon Runner, Erica!

When I was 11 years old, my Grandma Jones passed away from ovarian cancer. I cherish the memories I have of us discussing our favorite Thanksgiving traditions at my elementary school grandparent’s day, her supporting me at my first gymnastics meet, and my family visiting her at her house on the lake. While I hold these memories dear to my heart, I had lost all 4 of my grandparents in elementary school and didn’t get a chance to know them very well. As I got older and watched my friends’ relationships with their grandparents evolve, I wished I had had the chance to develop more mature relationships with my own grandparents, hearing more of their stories and learning from their advice. Devoted to serving others through her involvement in her church and various charitable organizations, I can’t think of a better way to honor my grandma than dedicating my time and fundraising efforts to Team Tell Every Amazing Lady® to raise awareness about ovarian cancer, support patients and survivors, and fund medical research.

In addition to honoring my grandma, I’m passionate about promoting women’s health and wellness. Growing up with two sisters and having attended an all-girls school, I’ve always been dedicated to supporting and empowering women. Advancing education and awareness around women’s health is at the core of this.

I love running because it clears my mind, challenges me to persevere, and reminds me of how amazing and capable my body is. I also love that it gets me outside and helps me explore new parts of NYC. Having been a goal of mine for the past few years, I’m excited to run my first marathon at age 26 (almost exactly 26.2 years old on race day in fact)!

I can’t wait to run with Team Tell Every Amazing Lady® in honor of my grandma and all the incredible women in my life!

Meet Team Tell Every Amazing Lady®’s 2024 TCS New York City Marathon Runner, Carrie!

For this year’s TCS New York City Marathon, I am proud to be partnering with Tell Every Amazing Lady® to help fight ovarian cancer. My grandma passed away from cancer over a year ago, and I would love to run this race in her honor. My fundraising goal for the 2024 TCS New York City Marathon is $3,000. Meet Team Tell Every Amazing Lady®’s 2024 TCS New York City Marathon Runner, Brittany!

Hi All,

On Sunday, November 3rd, I will be running the 2024 TCS NYC Marathon with Team Tell Every Amazing Lady® (Tell Every Amazing Lady® About Ovarian Cancer Louisa M. McGregor Ovarian Cancer Foundation) and couldn’t be more excited to do so! I’ll be running in honor of one of the most beautiful souls to grace this earth, Joyce Gerard. Joyce came into my life 27 years ago, when her daughter and I met in elementary school and became instant best friends. She was a second mother to me and I will be forever grateful for the time we spent together. Here is her story:

Joyce was the most loving mother, wife, and Mimi. She loved playing tennis, going out with all her friends, and spending time with her family, including her amazing husband, two children, and three grandchildren. She especially loved the summertime in her beautiful backyard that she meticulously gardened and landscaped, the flowers were always perfect. Her skills in the kitchen were unmatched, she was an incredible host and cook. Joyce was the picture of health, she was always active and loved to exercise. In January 2019, after having some minor bloating, she went to her doctor and received the most unexpected, devastating news – she was diagnosed with Stage 3C ovarian cancer. For 4 years and 3 months, she fought the battle valiantly. She never complained, and always had a positive attitude. Her oncologist would always tell her how amazing she looked (she loved to dress up, even for chemo appointments). Many people never even knew she was undergoing continuous treatment for all 4 years. She tried countless different medications and clinical trials. Unfortunately, ovarian cancer is known to come back with a vengeance and be resistant to treatment. Joyce’s battle ended on April 29th, 2023. She passed away at home with her family by her side.

Joyce was loved by so many. We will continue to keep her memory alive and running in her honor is just one small tribute to a woman who made this earth such a brighter place. Please help me carry on this fight, by donating, to make a difference in finding a cure and better treatment options for a disease that has taken the lives of so many young women.

Any contribution you make has an impact. Let’s do the damn thing! Thank you so much and F CANCER.

Meet Team Tell Every Amazing Lady®’s 2024 TCS New York City Marathon Runner, Amy!

Join me in honoring the memory of my beloved aunt by supporting my journey to run the 2024 TCS New York City Marathon in her name.

A true New Yorker, nurse, sister, best friend, aunt, and #1 Mets fan, my Aunt Rene fought a brave battle against ovarian cancer, showcasing resilience and grace every step of the way. Her strength continues to inspire me, and I’m determined to make a difference in the fight against this disease.

Her diagnosis with ovarian cancer came at a pivotal time as she was a frontline worker during COVID-19. In the midst of the pandemic’s chaos, my aunt stood as a beacon of strength and compassion on the front lines of healthcare in bustling New York City. As a dedicated nurse, she fearlessly battled COVID-19, tirelessly caring for the sick and vulnerable. However, amidst her selfless dedication, life threw her an even greater challenge when she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Despite facing her own health struggles, she continued to pour her heart and soul into her work, offering comfort and support to her patients. Amidst the uncertainty and pain, her unwavering love for the NY Mets remained a constant source of joy and distraction. Whether she was cheering from her hospital room or discussing the latest game with loved ones, her passion for her favorite team never waned. Her passing on April 25th, 2021 still stings all the hearts she touched. Though she may have left us too soon, her legacy of courage, compassion, and Mets fandom will forever echo all the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.

Running the 2024 TCS New York City Marathon in honor of my aunt holds such a deep significance. This will be a powerful way to pay tribute to her strength and resilience, both in her personal fight against the disease and in her dedication as a frontline nurse in NYC, running on the streets that she drove on for years. By taking on this challenge, I am not only commemorating her memory but also raising awareness about ovarian cancer and honoring all those who have been affected by it.

The 2024 TCS New York city Marathon is a symbol of love and community, something that was so important in my Aunt’s life. Crossing the finish line will be a poignant reminder of her spirit and a truly beautiful way to honor my Aunt’s legacy.

Meet Team Tell Every Amazing Lady®’s 2024 TCS New York City Marathon Runner, Adrienne!

This November, I will be running in the 2024 TCS New York City Marathon with Team Tell Every Amazing Lady®, an organization that focuses on providing support to patients and survivors, raising public awareness, and sharing resources with key partners in the struggle to end ovarian cancer.

I’m running with Team Tell Every Amazing Lady® in honor of my mom, Kris, who passed away in 2012 after a 6-year battle with ovarian cancer. I dedicate my training and marathon run to her, who fought her battle with so much courage and grace.

My mom was vibrant, silly, and smart. She had an infectious laugh and bright blue eyes (almost teal!!). Among many other things, she loved skiing, traveling, needlepoint, and singing along to Broadway musical soundtracks. I am so proud to be running in her honor!!

If you can, please help me reach my fundraising goal for Team Tell Every Amazing Lady®. Any contribution you can make will help bring us one step closer to early detection methods, improved treatments, and ultimately, a cure. Thanks all!

Meet Team Tell Every Amazing Lady®’s 2024 United Airlines Half Marathon Runner, Marc!

I became involved with T.E.A.L.® through my great friend and colleague Michael.

My goal is to be in the best running shape of my life and enjoy the whole experience. I love how running “quiets” my head and often helps me think more clearly. It’s an activity that when completed, makes me feel better about my day and what was accomplished. If I had the power to make a difference related to ovarian cancer, I would want to increase awareness, funding and research. And hopefully a cure is discovered as a result.
Every amazing lady has the power to inspire others with their courage, positive attitude, and bravery.

Excited to have an opportunity to raise awareness and funds for research for Ovarian cancer.  It’s a great cause with exceptional people. I’m thankful to be a part of Team TEAL!!!

Meet Team Tell Every Amazing Lady®’s 2024 United Airlines Half Marathon Runner, Maria!

My name is Maria. I’m 47 and married with two beautiful children. I’m a Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor as well as a Special Education Teaching Assistant in the Syosset High School. Up until August 2022 I lived a very healthy and active lifestyle…

I have always suffered from IBS symptoms, and I noticed they were getting worse. Bloating, cramps, constipation, etc. Turns out after demanding an MRI thinking I had a blockage I was hit with the news that I had stage 3 ovarian cancer. Full hysterectomy and debulking came next with a difficult recovery and 8 rounds of chemotherapy. I couldn’t wait to enjoy the “I BEAT CANCER” party I had planned to throw myself only to find out that I am not cancer free. I may never be cancer free…As I am still going through my treatments I’ve never once thought of giving up. I have an amazing support system that has helped me through this battle, and I truly believe that God never gives you anything you can’t handle…

I am fundraising for Tell Every Amazing Lady® and planning on running this half marathon to prove to myself and to others that even with cancer, I can live my life to the fullest. I will never let it beat me without a fight.

Meet Team Tell Every Amazing Lady®’s 2024 United Airlines Half Marathon Runner, Yvonne!

I lost a dear friend of mine to ovarian cancer two years ago. She was the same age as me, and also a runner and a triathlete. When I saw that Tell Every Amazing Lady® was one of the charities involved in the 2024 United Airlines NYC Half, I knew that this was the charity I wanted to run for and raise money for as a tribute to my friend.

My friend Louisa dealt with her diagnosis with courage, grace, acceptance and even humor. I take the lessons I learned from her and try and apply them every day.

I have a few goals for the 2024 United Airlines Half Marathon!

Meet Team Tell Every Amazing Lady®’s 2024 United Airlines Half Marathon Runner, Taylor!

My name is Taylor Tuohey, I am from Rockaway Beach, New York City and I am so excited to run the 2024 United Airlines NYC Half Marathon with Tell Every Amazing Lady® in the upcoming weeks! I have chosen to run my first half marathon with Tell Every Amazing Lady® in memory of my mom – Coleen Tuohey. My mom battled ovarian cancer for several years before passing away in February 2014. My mom and I, along with family and friends would always participate in Tell Every Amazing Lady® walks as it was one of her favorite days. She would always be dancing and smiling the entire walk. It will soon be 10 years and I thought this is a perfect time to run for her, and others who are battling ovarian cancer!

Meet Team Tell Every Amazing Lady®’s 2024 United Airlines Half Marathon Runner, Michele!

I wanted to introduce myself and give a little background to how I found Tell Every Amazing Lady®. I am an avid runner and triathlete, I have been in the running community for years, as I am now 57. I have in the past found it meaningful to run for a cause bigger than myself and have raised awareness and funds for a lot of different organizations over the years. I ran to the White House for childhood cancer awareness, I have run the Marine Corps Marathon for Hope for the warriors, and I was a team leader for our local CF organization.

Recently my close friend was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer. I have watched as she has undergone two surgeries, and two rounds of chemo. The last round finished recently. I was scheduled to do the Long Island 1/2 Ironman this past September and needed some motivation to complete it. I asked my girlfriend if I could run for her and raise some money towards her medical bills, she refused but mentioned Tell Every Amazing Lady®. She told me to run for a charity that has been there for her. I immediately signed up and raised $100.00 and learned more about the work Tell Every Amazing Lady® is doing. I work as a NP in an acute care hospital, and since I am now more aware of this organization, I have felt more compelled to share Tell Every Amazing Lady resources and partner with them. I am looking forward to raising funds for this charity as I train and run the 2024 United Airlines NYC Half Marathon proudly wearing a Tell Every Amazing Lady® uniform!

Meet Team Tell Every Amazing Lady®’s 2024 United Airlines Half Marathon Runner, Maeve!

I heard about Tell Every Amazing Lady® through my younger brother Henry, who ran with the team last year. The outpouring of love and support he received, and the donations he generated for the organization was truly inspiring.

We lost our mom, MaryPat, to ovarian cancer in September of 2022. Running a half-marathon isn’t easy, and the training can sometimes be difficult. However, it is nothing compared to what our mom faced, like so many other women, in her fight against cancer. I am looking forward to pushing myself to honor what she went through.

My goal for the race is to enjoy it. I am not necessarily looking to finish in a certain amount of time, but to enjoy experiencing the run alongside my brother while appreciating those who come out to support us.

I hope to remain a part of Tell Every Amazing Lady® moving forward. I believe that research into earlier detection of ovarian cancer is what will be the key to saving the lives of countless women moving forward.  I am looking forward to continuing to help spread the organization’s message and, most importantly, make my mom proud.

Meet Team Tell Every Amazing Lady®’s 2024 United Airlines Half Marathon Runner, Kimberly!

Wife, mom of two, and a passionate runner from Long Island. With a decade of running experience, I’ve conquered races from 5Ks to marathons, including the TCS NYC Marathon last November. This upcoming United Airlines NYC Half Marathon is not just a race for me; it’s a journey in honor of my dear friend Maria, bravely battling ovarian cancer. The best part? Maria is running this empowering journey by my side.

Meet Team Tell Every Amazing Lady®’s 2024 United Airlines Half Marathon Runner, Kaitlyn!

I am running with Team Tell Every Amazing Lady® in memory of my grandmother who passed away from ovarian cancer in 2020. My grandmother was the most generous and kindhearted person I’ve ever known, and I cannot think of a better way to honor her memory than to fundraise for an organization that supports those battling ovarian cancer.

Since my grandmother’s passing, I have inevitably learned a lot about this deadly disease. I was very shocked to learn that there is no screening test for ovarian cancer and many women aren’t familiar with the signs and symptoms. I am extremely grateful to be fundraising for an organization that funds research to find a screening test and cure, as well as raises awareness of the signs and symptoms. I hope that one day no woman has to suffer from ovarian cancer like my grandmother did.

Meet Team Tell Every Amazing Lady®’s 2024 United Airlines Half Marathon Runner, James!

My best friend’s mom passed away in September of 2022 to ovarian cancer after fighting for about 8 years. I considered her my aunt not because we are related, but because she was like a second mom to me. She was one of those truly special individuals. Every person that had her in their life was blessed to have known her and we were all so lucky to have her fight for those extra years. We all miss her very much! Additionally, last year it was an amazing experience running for Team Tell Every Amazing Lady® in the 2023 NYC Half Marathon. It was great to hear other team members’ stories to just shine more light on others effected by ovarian cancer. The team makes you feel like you’re part of something larger than just your individual fundraising, goals, and the physical run.

I have several goals for the NYC Half Marathon. First, raise as much money as possible for ovarian cancer research. Second, promote a ton of awareness on social media. Lastly, finish the race with a sub 10min mile pace.

Running is your own time and space to have an inner thought process and conversation with yourself. In addition, I love to take in the surroundings whether it’s the NYC skyline, or just the foliage on trees in the suburbs.

Aunt Marypat, we all love you so much. You raised one incredible family, and we know you’re looking down over us in heaven. Thank you for being a loving second mom and for always bringing happiness into the world.

Aunt Marypat easily made the best chocolate chip cookies on the planet.

Meet Team Tell Every Amazing Lady®’s 2024 United Airlines Half Marathon Runner, Henry!

I heard of Tell Every Amazing Lady® via social media and word of mouth in the past, but I first got involved in the fall of 2022. My mother, Mary Pat, had recently passed away after battling ovarian cancer for 8 years, and my friend suggested we sign up with Team Tell Every Amazing Lady® for the upcoming NYC Half Marathon. I thought it would be a great opportunity to find some therapy in running, while also raising money and awareness for an incredible organization whose mission means so much to me. Not only was completing the 2023 NYC Half a great personal achievement for myself, but on top of that, Team Tell Every Amazing Lady® was able to raise a significant amount of money for ovarian cancer research and awareness. I had such a wonderful experience working with Team Tell Every Amazing Lady®, meeting the team, and making some noise about ovarian cancer, both on and off the course!

My goal for the half marathon is to raise as much money & awareness as possible for Tell Every Amazing Lady® in order to provide support for those currently battling ovarian cancer, as well as survivors, caregivers, and the families of those affected. Having witnessed my own “Amazing Lady” battle ovarian cancer for as long as she did, I understand the hardships that many have gone through, are going through, and will go through. If I can make a positive difference in their lives, even in the smallest way possible, I’ll consider my efforts a great success.

What I love most about running isn’t the physical act of running at all, but the mental challenge that it provides. Running has never been my favorite activity, but I’ve always enjoyed the process of cultivating my mental strength to run farther and faster than I think I can. 13.1 miles is a long way, but the motivation to provide support and inspiration for those that need it the most, all while honoring my mom, will certainly push me to keep going.

If I had the power to make a difference in one thing related to ovarian cancer, it would be awareness. Too many women are often diagnosed with ovarian cancer when the disease is already in its advanced stages. Because it is still so difficult to diagnose, it is imperative that women are as aware, educated, and proactive as they can be as early as possible. If we can make some noise about the signs, symptoms, and best resources for early detection, we can help to increase the survival rate of this deadly disease, and ultimately save lives

Meet Team Tell Every Amazing Lady®’s 2024 United Airlines Half Marathon Runner, Darleen!

My mother was first diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer in 2011. We looked for an organization that supported women diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer and their families, but really couldn’t find many resources. We found a group in New Jersey, which while very helpful, was far. We continued to look and found Tell Every Amazing Lady®. Tell Every Amazing Lady® is an amazing organization! My mother found so much support bonding with her “sisters” and loved the weekly Wednesday mediation groups. In February 2022 when we learned my mother would need to begin in-home hospice and I was eight months pregnant, we reached out to Tell Every Amazing Lady® and they linked my sister, dad, and I to amazing services and sent care packages. Even after my mother passed, they have been in touch with us and provided support and strength.

My goal in running the 2024 United Airlines NYC Half is to honor the legacy of my mother and her memory. The Half is on the two-year anniversary of her passing. Last year, as it was the first anniversary, I spent the morning in bed crying and listening to sad songs that made me think of her. While I needed to do that last year to get through the day, this year I want to do something special and productive to honor my mother. I could think of no better way than to do that by running for her and raising money for an organization that she loved, and that is helping so many women and their families.

Running has been a passion of mine for years. I don’t really think of myself as athletic (I’ve never been particularly at sports), but with running it’s just you against you. I just get lost in my thoughts and listening to music. In a lot of ways, it’s extremely therapeutic.

I am running for my special lady, my mother. I just want her to know that she is a warrior! She fought so hard and is the strongest woman I know! I am so lucky she is mine!

Ovarian Cancer is the 5th cause of cancer related deaths in women and the number 1 cause of gynecologic cancer deaths. There is no effective way to screen for Ovarian Cancer. Early detection is key to fighting the disease, but often very difficult to do. Tell Every Amazing Lady® is helping the Ovarian Cancer community in so many ways. It helps those diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer, and their families. As Ovarian Cancer is not a diagnosis often discussed, it doesn’t always receive the financial support as other conditions. Tell Every Amazing Lady® can benefit greatly from your support. Please consider donating to an amazing cause.

Meet Team Tell Every Amazing Lady®’s 2024 United Airlines Half Marathon Runner, Danielle!

On March 17th, I’m running the 2024 United Airlines NYC Half Marathon with my friend, Maria. She was diagnosed with ovarian cancer at stage three and has had a myriad of chemo treatments, major surgery, and trial drugs since then. I have never met and never will meet a stronger woman than her. She has the most positive and optimistic attitude about it all. She shows up at the gym to work out even through treatments. (Even at the ungodly hour, 5:15am!). She recently started a new job, continues to support her family, works out and goes on about her life, with no complaints, even on her worst feeling days. She has shown me the true meaning of strength and true meaning of being unstoppable. I’m so excited and honored to be running alongside her and Team Tell Every Amazing Lady®.

We became aware and involved with Tell Every Amazing Lady® around 2022. My friend was diagnosed with ovarian cancer that year. She researched and found Tell Every Amazing Lady®. We wanted to be involved with every amazing lady going through the same health struggles.

My goal for NYC half is to be present and grateful, to take in the camaraderie of running with Tell Every Amazing Lady®, the support of family, friends and strangers cheering us on. It’s the greatest gift to be able to exercise, to move, to run. I want to be fully present and feeling gratitude for the full 13 miles.

Running has always been a challenge for me. Two years ago, I started running and I couldn’t get past 2 miles for a long time. Only a year after I started training, I ran the NYC Marathon. I feel a sense of pride and accomplishment for myself. I feel unstoppable. Anyone can do anything they want if you believe you can!

Meet Team Tell Every Amazing Lady®’s 2024 United Airlines Half Marathon Runner, Blair!

Hi, my name is Blair I am 16 and a junior in high school. I decided to start to run to learn to push myself and persevere through races and even training. I run for my high school, where we won our league championship, where I got first place. Mainly I am a long-distance runner, and my main events are 3200m and 5000m. I hope to improve over the next two years to continue running in college and achieve more of my goals. I am running the 2024 United Airlines NYC Half Marathon to promote Tell Every Amazing Lady® and to run for a good cause. I think knowing while racing the importance of running for Tell Every Amazing Lady® will help me push through the 13.1 miles.

Those people are the true inspirations and the true heroes, and I will be running for you, because you inspire me. It is a privilege to be able to move my body and feel the pavement beneath my feet. I am running this race for all the people who aren’t physically able to run themselves.

Meet Levana! Captain of team Elle’s Pretty Hall

Meet Levana! Captain of team Elle’s Pretty Hall which raised over $10,000 for the 15th Annual Brooklyn T.E.A.L.® Walk/Run™ Celebration!

Hi! I’m Levana. I was diagnosed with Stage IV Ovarian Cancer in 2020 at age 33. The symptoms were subtle- headaches, fatigue, bloating. I was diagnosed through a CA 125 blood test during my annual gynecologic appt. I was able to get this blood test because I have the BRCA1 gene- I learned I had this gene after my mom passed away from Ovarian Cancer and I did genetic testing. Despite my best efforts at surveillance there is NO test for Ovarian Cancer. By the time I learned I had it, it had already spread to lymph nodes in my neck.

I am beyond lucky to be getting the best possible care at Memorial Sloan Kettering. I am grateful for outstanding doctors, supportive friends, family, and co-workers. Not all days are great- I am on a weekly chemo and the port in my chest is a constant reminder of how my life has changed. I’ve lost track of how many ER visits and hospital rooms I’ve had.
