On July 31, 2024, The Brooklyn Paper along with News 12 Brooklyn was here to join the Brooklyn Borough President, Antonio Reynoso on a tour of the T.E.A.L.® Community Center-the only of its kind in the United States. The center which provides nationwide women’s health services is important to all Brooklyn residents, especially those impacted by ovarian cancer.
The South University Brothers of Kappa Psi presented a poster highlighting Tell Every Amazing Lady® on July 26th, 2024 in Cleveland Ohio. Grand Council Convention is a national conference held by Kappa Psi Pharmaceutical Fraternity, Inc. for the brothers to share and congratulate the organization’s progress, elect new officers and plan future endeavors.
The conference included a segment for collegiate brothers to present a poster sharing their recent research, and community projects they have worked on within the last two years. The South University brothers created a poster displaying support for T.E.A.L. ® and promoting ovarian cancer awareness. The poster was presented among pharmacists across the U.S. in various fields of study including oncology. This conference was a great opportunity to promote the upcoming Savannah T.E.A.L.® Walk event hosted by members of South University plus to promote awareness month.
On July 18, 2024, T.E.A.L.® attended the Maimonides Summer Health Equity Fair in Borough Park, Brooklyn, hosted by Maimonides Medical Center. We gave out awareness cards, information about our survivor support programs, and invited everyone to join us on September 7th at the 16th Annual Brooklyn T.E.A.L.® Walk/Run™ Celebration. We enjoyed meeting representatives from community organizations around NYC and we are looking forward to attending this event again next year!
T.E.A.L.® is grateful to doTERRA for supplying us with the funds to create and send out 250 chemo kits to patients undergoing ovarian cancer treatment across the country. Our kits went to cancer care facilities including Miriam Rutgers Cancer Center in New Jersey, Yale New Haven Hospital in Connecticut, Moffitt Cancer Center in Florida, and St. Joseph’s/Candler Hospital, Memorial University Medical Center, and SJC Oncology Services in Georgia. In order to assemble the kits, T.E.A.L.® was very excited to collaborate with volunteers from TD Bank who came to the T.E.A.L.® Community Center in Brooklyn on May 14th. Finally, on June 14th, our lovely volunteer Marissa dropped off our last box of kits at Yale New Haven Hospital. We are very thankful to everyone who had a hand in helping us make and send out these kits!
Tell Every Amazing Lady® was excited to bring our mission across the country. T.E.A.L.® served as the beneficiary for the Dance, Sweat, Give fundraiser at the Mirhan K. Studio in Burbank, California! This fundraiser was a donation-based dance class to raise funds for the Las Vegas T.E.A.L.® Walk/Run™ in Las Vegas, Nevada. They were able to raise over $800 for T.E.A.L.® and for the event! We also handed out awareness materials, educational content and more. Thank you Mirhan K. Studio for your generosity!
